Senior Software Engineer /Systems Architect

Location: Portland, Oregon
Type: Full-time

The Senior Software Engineer /Systems Architect develops information systems by studying operations; designing, developing, and installing software solutions. Additionally, this position works with and coordinates with various specialists who act on the information systems (IS) to ensure their proper operation. The expertise is not just technical as they have to transform the IS into a development and strategy tool. Beyond purely technical skills, this position requires excellent knowledge about the various jobs in a company.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar technical discipline; or, equivalent demonstrable experience
  • 8+ years of experience as a software engineer; demonstrated success developing a variety of software systems while taking on increasing responsibility for analysis, design, implementation and deployment tasks
  • 6+ years of experience developing data-driven applications utilizing significant relational database engines as part of the overall application architecture (experience with SQL Server required)
  • Proficiency developing and troubleshooting complex software systems that run on Windows
  • Expert knowledge in C#, C/C++, .NET.
  • Communicate efficiently in English

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review and optimize existing software and system architecture
  • Evaluate and recommend new technology to improve the existing system
  • Provide architecture consulting for development teams
  • Execute migration projects and assume responsibility for their success
  • Implement robust, scalable and highly optimized infrastructure components
  • Improve and maintain existing application code
