Production Technician

Location: Portland, Oregon
Type: Full-time

The Production Technician is responsible for learning production processes through formal training with the goal of being able to process, test, and package biological reagents and laboratory solutions independently. The Production Technician trains with qualified personnel on production SOPs, Work Instructions, and other documents associated with the preparation of manufactured materials required by internal and external customers. The Production Technician learns how to conform to all company processes, including but not limited to those associated with the Production, Quality, and Operations Departments.

Education, Certifications and Work Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in Biology or related field
  • Relevant laboratory, analysis, or manufacturing experience
  • Experience in regulated environment using GDP, GMP, and/or GLP

Computer Skills:

Has advanced, basic computer job skills including logging on to systems, ability to communicate by email, ability to compose documents, enter database information, create presentations, download forms, and preserve/backup important data.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Follow SOPs, Work Instructions, and all required documentation
  • Efficiently manufacture products which meet specifications
  • Package and label products
  • Record required information in batch records and associated documents
  • Keep laboratory and other work areas clean and orderly
  • Maintain equipment as instructed
  • Follow OR-OSHA safety requirements
  • Report problems to supervisor
  • Attending meetings and trainings
  • Document review and revision
  • Other duties as assigned
